We are George Mason University’s advocacy chapter of the American Association of University Professors. Our members work in solidarity to secure shared governance, protect the academic freedom of all instructors, and improve the material lives of all faculty and graduate instructors. If all faculty–including adjunct professors, graduate students, term faculty, tenure-line faculty–work together, we can build a better public university. At GMU-AAUP, we are One Faculty.
Yoga isn’t enough! A Galactic Rally for Reduced Workloads
Wednesday, May 4th
Merten Hall Lawn, 1pm-3pm
Don’t miss our 2pm group photo, where we’ll all hold rally signs while doing a ‘warrior pose’ for reduced workloads!
It’s time to blow off some steam at the end of the semester! Join us at our Star Wars themed “Yoga isn’t enough!” rally to reduce faculty workloads, on 5/4 at 1pm-3pm in front of Merten Hall (on the lawn). We’re having an ironic yoga party, so bring your yoga mats and light sabres, and help us strike a warrior pose (actual yoga not required). We’ll have a craft table for sign-making and a table with free AAUP merch. Also, there will be a doughnuts. Please RSVP here so we can estimate our doughnut run: https://bit.ly/37IYKyf
Let’s send the administration a message: we don’t need “self-care” tips. We need reduced course caps in feedback-intensive courses. May the Fourth be with you!
